The Stroke and Surgical Step-Down Unit provides care for stroke and surgical step-down patients.

Patient Population

• Stroke, Surgical Step Down patients. 

Number of Beds

• 20 beds
• 10 stroke and 10 step down surgical

Nurse/Patient Ratio

•  3:1-4:1

Rotation/Shifts

• 7A, 7P, Weekend Plan

Skill Mix

• 70% RN
• 30% PCT

Nursing Unit Orientation

• Varies on experience and previous work
• Range-4 to 8 weeks.
